Washington’s Stonehenge near Maryhill

I suspect that you have heard of Stonehenge on the Salisbury Plain in England, but did you know that there is a Stonehenge along the Columbia River in Washington State?  Granted, the one in Washington is not as old as the one in England, but according to the information available at the site it is the same size and dimension as the one in England.

While the one in Washington is not sitting on a plain, I suspect that with it’s views of the Columbia River and Mt. Hood in the distance, the one in Washington far surpasses the one in England when it comes to view of the surrounding landscape, but since I haven’t been to England I am making an assumption on that.  This image, captured with one of my IR converted camera is the view from Washington’s Stonehenge looking west along the Columbia River.  If you are curious about the stonehenge itself, I did make a 360 pano with my iPhone while visiting.

You know you are welcome any time. I can’t offer you a spare bedroom, but I have a lot of floor space and 3 or 4 air matresses :-)
