Twilight Capitol

The Washington State Capitol building in Olympia during the blue hour

Those that follow my photography know that the Washington State Capitol campus is one of my favorite local places to shoot.  The grounds are very inviting to photographers with the interesting buildings and public art.  Even with as much time as I spend shooting there, I have a number of “bucket list” images that I want to make, and this one, “Twilight Capitol” is one that I can not check off of that list.

Even though I have shot from this vantage point many times, this is the first time that I shot there with the trees in their spring bloom.  Given the bad weather we have had recently, and the fact that they don’t stay in bloom for all that long, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make this image this year either.  Fortunately, we had a break in the bad weather this week and I was able to get down to the capitol and get my shot.
