The East 21st Street Bridge, sometimes known as the Thea Foss Waterway Bridge, In Tacoma, WA shot at night from the Bridge of Glass
Most people know this cable stay bridge in Tacoma, WA as the Thea Foss Waterway Bridge, but to be more accurate its actual name is the East 21st Street Bridge. Granted, it does span the Thea Foss Waterway, but it is actually one of two bridges that span the same waterway. It is without a doubt though the most interesting looking bridges in the downtown Tacoma area. It probably goes without saying that if you do a Google image search for this bridge you will find a lot of images taken from a lot of different angles at all times of the day.
I made this image last October while visiting the Tacoma Museum of Glass. I wanted to get a night shot of the bridge but I also wanted to shoot it from a perspective that I hadn’t already seen countless times before. I found a place on the pedestrian Bridge of Glass near the museum that provided me with this scene. I hope you enjoy this slightly different take on the Thea Foss Waterway Bridge.
