The USS New Jersey on the Camden, NJ waterfront

Leaving the Palouse again today here on the blog and returning to my recent work trip to Philadelphia, and more specifically the Camden, NJ waterfront for today’s image of the USS New Jersey.

I drove over the bridge into New Jersey specifically to get a skyline shot of Philadelphia.  I did get that shot but ended up with a few others I didn’t plan on making, this image of the USS New Jersey was one of those images.

The USS New Jersey, according to the internet, is an Iowa class battleship that launched in 1942.  The USS New Jersey fought from World War II through the Viet Nam war.  In the early 1980’s she was reactivated and after modernization she saw action in the Lebanese Civil War.  Today she is a museum ship in Camden, NJ.

I didn’t have a lot of time to shoot her while I was there, and my vantage points were somewhat limited, but I would love to go back and spend some more time documenting her.
