The Space Needle in black and white

A black and white image of the iconic Seattle Space Needle

I made this image of the Space Needle on New Years Eve when we were in Seattle to watch the fireworks.  When I shot this I knew that I was going to make it a black and white and I was even pretty sure how I wanted it to look when I was done.  I tried a number of different tools and presets but nothing really gave me what I was looking for.  In the end it was just a conversion with a standard Lightroom preset and then a ton of tweaking of the settings to get what I was looking for.  I really wanted the Space Needle to stand out from the rest of the city skyline and I think I accomplished that.  I also added a pretty heavy vignette around the corners to keep focus where it should be.

I hope you enjoy it and as always, please click on the image for a larger version or to order prints.
