The People of NxNW2015

I have shared a number of images from my NxNW2015 expedition to the Palouse in early June.  What you might not know is that NxNW started back in 2012 when 5 online photographers got together in Oregon for a weekend of photography, friendship and beer drinking.  The original group of NxNW photographers were Dave Wilson, Jim Nix, Justin Balog, Jacob Lucas and myself.  In the years since the original trip to Oregon the group has grown and gone to a different location each year.  There were 10 of us on this years trip to the Palouse and four of the original 5.

Even though the locations of each years NxNW might be what brings this group photographers together, I would argue that the reason why we do it is the friendships that have been built over the years.

I wanted to take a few minutes on my blog today to share some of the images of the people that were on the NxNW2015 expedition.  Most of these are just snapshots that I made along the way, a number of them are iPhone shots at that, and I have to confess that I didn’t actually grab shots of everyone while on the trip, but thanks to Dave and Justin letting me share a couple of their images from the trip, everyone will be represented in this post. :-)

Up until now I have been posting these shots without comment, but I think that the final 3 actually needs just a bit of explanation.  There were actually 3 of us on this trip who where named Scott.  Scott Wyden Kivowitz, Scott Starks and myself.  To add to it, Dave Wilson is from Scotland so we ultimately had 3 Scotts and a Scot.  Justin decided that he had to capture an image of that.  The final two images of this post are titled “Three Scotts” and “Three Scotts and a Scot” and it wasn’t until a little later that I realized that I had actually captured an image of just two Scotts.
