Taking off over Seattle

I have admired the work of fellow photographer Michael Murphy from London for quite some time now.  Michael does great work across the board, but he has a “hoody guy” character that shows up from time to time in his work that I think is great.  I was really excited to find out that he was coming to Seattle for a business trip and even though it was a short trip, we were able to get together for a couple beers and a little shooting from Jose Rival Bridge.  Not only have I wanted to meet Michael for some time, I have also wanted to shoot the Seattle skyline from this bridge, so it was a win-win situation.  I am really looking forward to seeing Michael’s images from the night, and I have a few more that I will be sharing soon as well.

I shot the scene from a few different places along the bridge, but right at the end of our time there, a helicopter took off and flew along I-5 to the south and I was able to not only get the light trails along the freeway, but a matching light trail in the air.  It quickly became my favorite image of the night.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and remember, you can order my new calendar by clicking on the link to the left of this post. :-)
