My first instinct was to call this image “The Surreal Shore” as I feel it flows off the tongue a little easier than “The Surreal Coast,” but here in the northwest we have always used the phrase coast over shore. As a kid, it was talk about going out to the coast, never lets go to the shore.
This image was captured this last weekend when we made a trip out to the Washington coast. We really wanted to get away from the house for a little while, and the coast is a really easy afternoon trip for us, it is less than 2 hours away. This particular day we went to a part of the coast we had never visited before, and while it was very foggy out, we did find some locations that have moved up towards the top of my favorite locations and what I think will be very photogenic when the weather is better.
As I said, it was very foggy out, and there wasn’t much of a chance of getting a great traditional image, so I decided to give IR a try. This is the result. I hope you like it and I hope to revisit this little stretch of beach very soon.
