Parker Thunderstorm

Parker Thunderstorm

A severe warned thunderstorm near Parker, AZ in 2010

Yesterday I was watching my good friend Bryan Snider live stream a storm chase in Northern Arizona and one of the viewers asked him if he had chased out in Western Arizona.  He mentioned that he hadn’t so I decided that I would share an image with his live stream crowd of an image that I made back in 2010 of a severe warned thunderstorm near Parker, AZ.  The problem was that when I went to grab a link I realized that I didn’t have it in any of my online galleries.

I really don’t know why I removed this image from my online galleries, I do tend to shuffle stuff into and out of them, but I even have a fairly large print of this hanging in my house, and if it is good enough for my bedroom wall, it should be good enough for my online galleries. :-)

I guess it is better late than never, and I can’t share it with Bryan’s chatroom, but for everyone else, here it is. :-)

Into The Sun

Into The Sun

A single tree in the Arizona desert at sunset

I lived in Tucson for just over 20 years and in the last 5 months I was there I was commuting to Phoenix every day for work.  I would drive by the tree you see into this image twice a day and always thought it would make a nice image.  The sad thing though I that I never actually stopped to make any images of this tree until my Arizona work trip last week when I finally did pull off the freeway at sunset and shot this.  I think it is pretty obvious why I titled this image Into The Sun.

This is going to be a short post, and if you take anything away from this, please take this.  If you see something that you think will make an image you want, shoot it, don’t wait for 4 or 5 years to do it, while you might get the chance again, there is always a chance that you will not.
